Prince William has given a rare glimpse into his friendship with football legend David Beckham in an unearthed interview that has resurfaced.
The 49-year-old athlete has frequently joined the Prince of Wales and King Charles at high-profile events in recent months and was recently appointed as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation.
In a past interview, William was asked to choose between Beckham and French footballer Zinedine Zidane in a penalty shootout. His response hinted at his strong bond with Beckham.
"This is gonna hurt. Becks, I think—just... I think Becks might kill me if I don't say him," William joked while speaking to The Sun.
Beckham, who has long expressed admiration for the royal family, also spoke about his deep respect for William at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
"I always get emotional talking about anything that I do with our Royal Family," Beckham shared.
Regarding his connection with William, Beckham added that he never hesitates when the prince asks for his support.
"If William messages, 'I need you to do this' or 'be there,' it's always a 'yes’," he said.
