Why did Johnny Depp skip Cannes after-party?

Johnny Depp wasn’t kidding when he said he prefers the quiet.

According to reports, the 59-year-old actor, who recently made a comeback to Hollywood at the premiere of his French-language film, Jeanne du Barry, at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month, snubbed the event’s after-party last night.

A source revealed that Depp “decided to head back to his room early to make sure he got enough rest and to prepare for another day of media interviews.”

“Depp has made an evolution in terms of prioritizing his health and rest while he made his comeback,” they explained.

Despite being an introvert himself, the actor’s presence was deeply missed at the late-night shenanigan, as the insider claimed, “Everyone was expecting Johnny at the dinner.

“It’s very rare for the star of the film to not show, but he decided to lay low,” they added.

In an interview with Somerset Life back in March, the Pirates of the Caribbean star laid bare some lesser-known traits of his personality, noting that he’s “quite a shy person” contrary to his public persona

“I like going to places, seeing things, and meeting people — but I'm not the great extrovert that people think,” he said at the time.
