John Wick: Chapter 4 receives franchise's highest Rotten Tomatoes score

John Wick: Chapter 4 has been crowned the top spot in the entire franchise after the film's early screening saw the Keanu Reeves starrer receive rave reviews.

Currently the action movie is given the highest rating as Rotten Tomatoes critics gave it a 93%, a first in the series to break through the 90% barrier.

In the movie’s initial reviews, critics waxed lyrical the fourth installment calling it "glorious, epic and badass" among many other things.

The positive reviews are certainly a boost as it is expected that the film is on its way to becoming a box office blockbuster on its opening weekend, with a projected $64 million in earnings from its debut weekend alone.

For the unversed, the movie will carry on from the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum where Wick seeks revenge against High Table while in Bowery King.

The movie will feature more mythology on the Continental Hotel, which is a safe haven for New York City’s assassins.

Steve Weintraub of Collider called the movie "f**king awesome" and that he "had to pick my jaw off the ground from some of the insane and inventive set pieces."

The feeling was mutual for Collider’s features editor Therese Lacson who expressed the movie was "an action-packed, bloody, kill-fest, and that's what makes it good!"

Eric Eisenberg, a CinemaBlend critic, expressed how the movie "earned" its long runtime.

"It's an epic with smart pacing that never lets the action feel exhausting, and the set pieces are phenomenal," Eisenberg wrote.

"Great cast of series newcomers, but Donnie Yen is the MVP."

John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to hit cinemas on March 24.
