Actor Warwick Davis will be reprising his role as Professor Filius Flitwick from the original Harry Potter franchise in the HBO series.
A press release from the network read, “The HBO Original Harry Potter television series today announced the return of Warwick Davis as Professor Filius Flitwick, marking his homecoming to the wizarding world in a role he originated for the film series.”
Davis appeared in all eight of the original films, starting with 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and ending in 2011 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
He also took on the role of Griphook in several of the films, a goblin working at Gringotts Wizarding Bank.
Other roles were also announced, with Leigh Gill taking on the role of Griphook and Sirine Saba as Professor Pomona Sprout.
Madam Poppy Pomfrey will be played by Bríd Brennan, Richard Durden will play Professor Cuthbert Binns, Elijah Oshin will take on Dean Thomas while Finn Stephens and William Nash will take on Draco Malfoy’s sidekicks, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle.
Dominic McLaughlin is set to play the titular character, a role originally portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe.
