The Thursday Murder Club fans are seated in the hopes of a sequel, which hasn’t been announced yet.

However, they are certain that the Netflix film has a part two coming sooner than anyone could expect.

Internet sleuths have noticed the pattern of the streaming giant’s productions like KPop: Demon Hunter, Enola Holmes, and To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, and concluded the films have one thing in common.

All of them have been expanded into franchises, with the KPop: Demon Hunter sequel announced in August.

Netizens took to social media to express their sentiments about The Thursday Murder Club’s next instalment.

One fan wrote, “I really enjoyed the film, I hope Netflix brings the characters back again.” Another well-wisher penned, “They cut out major things, but I loved the film. Is there a sequel?”

In conversation with Film Stories, director Chris Columbus admitted that “all signs point to a sequel in the next chapter.” However, talking to The Mirror, he said, “Time will tell. It depends on how many people see this film.”

Notably, The Thursday Murder Club is adapted from Richard Osman’s debut novel of the same name. It follows the story of four senior citizens living in a luxury retirement home who love solving cold murders.

The movie is led by Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Celia Imrie, and Ben Kingsley, among others.

For the unversed, the feature was released on August 28, 2025, on Netflix, and quickly took the number one spot since it was highly anticipated.

Did Netflix change major plotlines in 'The Thursday Murder Club' movie?
