Netflix reveals release date for David Fincher’s ‘The Killer’

The Killer, a noir thriller starring Michael Fassbender, will be released on Netflix in November 2023.

Tilda Swinton has an unspecified part in the thriller, which stars Michael Fassbender in the lead and is based on the same-named French graphic novel by Alexis Nolent. According to ScreenRant, Charles Parnell will play Hodges and Kerry O'Malley will play Dolores in the movie.

David Fincher, the director of the film and a Golden Globe and Oscar contender, is recognised for creating critically praised blockbusters including Gone Girl, Mank, The Social Network, Zodiac, and Se7en, to mention a few.

There are twelve books in the series, which were released between 1998 and 2013. The novels follow an unnamed assassin who, despite being the best at what he does for years, starts to falter and have a psychological crisis. Andrew Kevin Walker has revised the film's original script.

According to Netflix, the movie will follow "a man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target."

Even though he appears "cool" and collected on the outside, the killer begins to feel as though he is going crazy as he waits. And the longer he waits, the worse it grows.

"A brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind," reads the logline.

The movie will release on Netflix on November 10, 2023.
