The Golden State Warriors are parading through San Francisco on Monday after defeating the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals to win their fourth title in eight years.
The Warriors are celebrating their first championship in the city, which is home to the Chase Center, after three championship parades that snaked through Oakland.
Instead of holding a post-parade rally, the Warriors invited players, coaches, club executives, and Mayor London Breed to a stage in front of the Ferry Building on Market Street, where TV play-by-play commentator Bob Fitzgerald conducted multiple interviews.
According to Mercury News, the team personnel reflected on a ‘different feel’ regarding the latest victory.
“The reason it was a surprise is we kind of stunk the last couple of years,” said the head coach Steve Kerr, adding “I don’t know if you noticed that. To be able to bounce back from where we were is pretty incredible”.
