Soulja Boy shared that he first started the concept of "going viral"

Soulja Boy has made an eyebrow-raising claim saying that without him TikTok would not exist.

Speaking on It’s Tricky podcast the musician shared that his career launched multiple legacy-defining moments.

He added that his song Crank Dat and its dance became one of the first viral dances to take the internet by storm and in extension to this, created the concept of "going viral".

"I got Beyoncé doing the Crank Dat Soulja Boy [dance], you feel me? I created TikTok! It wouldn't be no TikTok if it weren't for Soulja Boy," said the rapper.

When asked about how the owner of TikTok would take his bold statement, he said: "What about him!? He heard Crank Dat Soulja Boy too! He's seen the video too! 'I'm finna make this app right now! Look at this dance, this is great way to make money. Kids dancing to a song.' Can I get my ten percent, TikTok? The [expletive] going on?"
