Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds's much-anticipated adventure comedy film Free Guy finally got the release date after multiple delays caused by the coronavirus lockdown.

The film is scheduled to release on August 13. A new trailer of the film was released on Thursday, along with the release date.

The trailer has been shared via the official Twitter account of the film, with the caption, "The world needed a good guy, they got a great guy. Watch the all-new trailer for Free Guy and see it only in theaters August 13.”

Canadian-American star Reynolds also shared the clip on his Instagram account with a hilarious caption. "On August 13th, find out what @JodiemComer or @TaikaWaititi put inside me. In the movie, not in real life. (But I’m checking right now just in case. Will update later," he wrote.


Directed by Shawn Levy, Free Guy also stars Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi. The movie’s plot revolves around a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game and he decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late.
