Hollywood’s acclaimed actress Michell Pfeiffer is all set to stun the audience and critics on screen with her upcoming portrayal of the former first lady of the United States Betty Ford.

Fans, who enjoyed actress Viola Davis in the popular show How To Get Away With Murder are excited to see her playing the former first lady Michelle Obama in Showtime’s upcoming political series titled, The First Lady.

The Variety confirmed the news from Showtime, The First Lady, a show formerly called The First Ladies, will be directed by the Night Manager director Susanne Bier.

The anthology series will feature Pfeiffer, who will play the First Lady of the United States from 1974 to 1977 and wife of Gerald Ford.

After Netflix’s The Crown, the upcoming anthology series will feature the historical events through the eyes of various First Ladies.

The first season will follow Michelle Obama, Betty Ford, and Eleanor Roosevelt. Davis will be playing Michelle Obama. However, no name has been announced yet for the Eleanor Roosevelt role.

The series will be produced by Showtime and Lionsgate Television. The First Lady will focus on Michelle Obama, Betty Ford and Eleanor Roosevelt and the roles they played in shaping impactful and world-changing historic decisions during their time in the White House, reported Variety.
