Macaulay Culkin recently expressed regret three months after Catherine O’ Hara’s death.
In his latest interview with Gentleman’s Journal, the actor, who the played late Catherine’s son in Home Alone and Home Alone 2, said that after her passing away earlier this year, something hit him “pretty good”.
Macaulay noted that her death “was just too soon,” as the late actress died on January 30 at her residence in Los Angeles following a brief illness at 71.
The actor realised that he had some “unfinished business” with her, adding, “I definitely feel like I had unfinished business with her.”
“I feel like I owed her a favour — and I don’t like having an outstanding debt,” stated Macaulay.
At the time of Catherine’s demise, the actor took to social media and paid emotional tribute to her.
“Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you,” he wrote alongside a photo of them embracing in the original film, along with a picture of the pair at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2023.
Earlier in 2023, the late Beetlejuice actress attended the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony as he received the star.
During her speech, she praised the actor and said that the reason audiences “all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving ‘Home Alone’ together [is] because of Macaulay Culkin”.
