Hayden Panettiere’s ex speaks up after the release of memoir detailing abuse

Hayden Panettiere’s ex Brian Hickerson finally broke his silence after the release of her memoir, This is Me: A Reckoning.

Hayden and Brian reportedly dated on and off from 2018 to 2022, though the relationship was spoiled by multiple domestic violence incidents and arrests.

Lately, the actress’ ex decided to speak to TMZ about his ex’s memoir and shared his reaction to stories of trauma and abuse.

Hayden’s ex addressed the abusive relationship allegations, saying that she tried to keep her relationship private from her loved ones because she was embarrassed by the toxic cycle.

“I got arrested for abusing her. And I wouldn’t blame her friends for being pissed off at me. So, I don’t really have much to say on that,” he said.

Brian pointed out that they had been together for eight years, and during that period he got many opportunities to apologise for his behaviour.

“You’d have to ask her what she thinks about it, but you know…you never lay hands on a woman. Bottom line,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Brian also recalled a 2020 incident where he “had a lot to drink and I got physical with her. I got arrested”.

“Spent the night in jail and that’s just what happens when you lay hands on women,” he added.
