Conan O’Brien is officially set to return to Hollywood’s biggest night once again, with the comedian confirmed to host the Oscars for a third time in 2027.
The 63-year-old funnyman, who first took on the glittering gig in 2025, has quickly become a firm favourite with both audiences and Academy bosses.
All thanks to his sharp humour, easy charm and playful approach to the famously high-pressure ceremony.
After another widely praised outing at this year’s Oscars in March, organisers have now locked him in for the 99th Academy Awards, set to take place on March 14, 2027.
Craig Erwich, President of Disney Television Group, praised Conan’s impact, saying he has “created remarkable energy around The Oscars” and helped turn the night into “one of the most entertaining celebrations of the year.”
Behind the scenes, producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan also expressed their excitement about welcoming him back for a third consecutive year.
They called the reunion “really special” and highlighting his warmth as much as his comedy.
They added that Toy Story actor is more than just a host, describing him as a trusted creative partner who makes the entire process enjoyable both on stage and off.
It's worth noting that his previous Oscar stints have already delivered plenty of viral moments.
In 2025, he joked about returning just so he could finally hear Adrien Brody finish his famously long acceptance speech.
And he later opened the show with a bizarre but hilarious pre-taped sketch that saw him chased by horror-film-style characters before appearing live in the theatre.
His monologue didn’t hold back either, with cheeky jabs at some of Hollywood’s biggest names, cementing his reputation as a host who keeps even the A-list on their toes.
With his return now confirmed, anticipation is already building for what Conan will bring to the Oscars next.
