Dua Lipa’s $15 million legal battle with Samsung has taken a new turn after the company issued a statement.

Responding to the lawsuit, the tech giant denied any intention of misusing the singer’s likeness and addressing how the image was used.

The company explained to the Billboard that the singer's image was used in 2025 to showcase content available on Samsung TVs through its free streaming platform Samsung TV Plus.

It further claimed the photo was only used after a content partner confirmed all necessary permissions had been secured, including for retail packaging.

However, as per outlet, the songwriter's legal team told a completely different story that the filing stated that her face was splashed across a mass marketing campaign for a consumer product without her knowledge or consent, and that she had absolutely no say in how her image was being used.

Meanwhile, the filing made it clear that the No Lie hitmaker would never have approved such use, nor would she have agreed if she had been asked.

Notably, the dispute mainly comes down to whether proper permission was ever given, with Samsung blaming its third-party partner and the Hallucinate singer side denying any authorization.
