Kid Cudi has dramatically cut ties with M.I.A. after her fiery political comments sparked outrage mid-tour.
The 42-year-old rapper revealed he’d already warned M.I.A.’s team to keep things respectful before the Rebel Ragers Tour kicked off.
But things quickly went south in Dallas, Texas, when the outspoken star launched into a controversial rant that left fans fuming, and loudly booing.
Taking to Instagram, the Day ‘n’ Nite hitmaker didn’t mince his words.
He said he had been “flooded with messages” from upset fans and made it clear he wouldn’t tolerate anything that “upsets my fanbase”.
The drama erupted during a gig at Dos Equis Pavilion, where the 50-year-old singer told the crowd: “I never thought I would be cancelled for being a brown Republican voter.”
She then added another eyebrow-raising remark suggesting she couldn’t perform one of her tracks because “some of you could be in the audience”.
Unsurprisingly, the backlash was swift, but M.I.A. isn’t backing down.
In a lengthy, all-caps post on X, the Paper Planes star insisted her words had been twisted, accusing critics of “gaslighting” her message.
She doubled down on her long-standing activism, referencing her past work on immigration and declaring she has “no apology” for those judging her.
With tensions boiling over, Cudi has drawn a firm line, choosing his fans over controversy.
