Hailey Bieber is sharing insight into how visibility and attention have shaped her experience of fame over the years.
During her latest media talk, the Rhode founder reflected on how difficult it can be to manage identity and criticism while living under intense scrutiny.
In a new interview with Time published on Wednesday, May 6, the entrepreneur stated, "Being in this position, in general, there's a lot of judgment."
She continued, “When you're trying to figure out who you are on such a big scale and in front of so many different people, it feels really restricting to make really normal mistakes or, like, do the wrong thing or say the wrong thing.”
She also spoke about how conversations in interviews can sometimes feel difficult.
“I find that my words get twisted or things get totally misconstrued,” she said, adding that it can make her “want to close off and not be open with people.”
Despite that, she said she still wants to remain authentic. “I want to be exactly who I am,” she noted. “It just does feel hard sometimes having every single thing be looked at and picked apart.”
“When people have made up their mind about something and about you, they don't care what the truth is,” she added.
Moreover, Hailey shared that she often feels “very misunderstood so often.”
