Donny Osmond says final goodbye to brother Alan in heartbreaking message

Donny Osmond has paid a heart-wrenching tribute to his late brother Alan Osmond.

The 68-year-old pop legend called him his “protector” and “guide” after his death at the age of 76.

He shared the emotional message on Instagram alongside a throwback childhood photograph of the pair, capturing a tender moment from their early years in The Osmonds family group.

“This is one of the earliest pictures I have of my brother Alan and me,” Donny wrote. 

“Even back then, you can see that he had his arm around me, watching over me. That’s who he was. My protector. My guide. 

The one who quietly carried so much responsibility so the rest of us could shine.”

Alan, the eldest of the famous singing brothers, was widely seen as the steady force behind the group’s rise to global fame. 

Puppy Love hitmaker described him as the family’s “leader in every sense of the word.”

He added that his sacrifices helped shape everything they achieved in the music world.

“I will always be grateful for the sacrifices he made and the love he showed – not just to me, but to every member of our family,” Donny continued. 

“I owe him more than I can ever fully express.”

He ended the tribute simply: “I love you, Alan. Thank you for always being there for me. Till we meet again.”

For the unversed, Alan passed away on Monday, surrounded by his wife Suzanne and their eight sons. 

He had lived with multiple sclerosis since his diagnosis in 1987, and his family praised his “positive outlook” and dedication to supporting others facing the illness.
