Why did Haylie Duff end her long romance with fiancé Matt Rosenberg?

Haylie Duff marked the end of one of Hollywood’s quieter love stories.

The 41-year-old actress has reportedly called time on her long-running relationship with Matt Rosenberg after 14 years together and more than a decade of engagement.

The food blogger, who is the older sister of star Hilary Duff, is said to have ended things with Matt “around the first of the year”, according to a representative. 

For the unversed, the former couple share two daughters, Ryan Ava Erhard, 10, and Lulu Gray, 7.

In a statement, the rep asked for privacy on behalf of Haylie, especially for the sake of their young children during this difficult period.

The Material Girls actress and Matt first began dating in the early 2010s and got engaged in 2014, but never made it down the aisle. 

Over the years, the pair were open about how family life and parenting often took priority over wedding plans.

It's worth noting that Haylie previously admitted that they simply never felt rushed to formalise things.

Back in 2018, she explained that the couple kept putting wedding planning on hold, saying life with young children kept getting in the way. 

At the time, she shared that they already “felt married” in many ways, even without the official ceremony.

Despite the split, Napoleon Dynamite star has previously spoken warmly about Matt, describing him as someone who balanced her personality and blended well with her family life. 

The breakup marks a quiet but emotional turning point for her, who had once described Matt as “the one.”
