John Mulaney, Andy Samberg spill what SNL creator is really like

John Mulaney and Andy Samberg dish on the Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Micheals after working with the elusive program creator.

The 81-year-old has been a mysterious figure in the industry, but Morgan Neville’s latest documentary, Lorne, is shedding some light on him by showing his relationship with recurring members from the sketch comedy show as well as those he has since befriended.

Former and current cast members from the famous show, such as Tina Fey, John Mulaney, Andy Samberg, Conan O’Brien, Chris Rock dished on the screenwriter’s nature.

John revealed that Lorne supported him when he was in rehad in 2020 after a drug and alcohol relapse amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 43-year-old said that the television producer called him and assured him that he would “stay on the phone for as long as you like.”

Lorne also told him the story of his friend John Belushi amid the long calls to remind him how much his loved ones would be affected if he gave in to his addictions.

John went on to add that he likes hanging out with the SNL creator a lot and the thought of the latter passing makes him sad.

Andy compared his relationship with Lorne to that of a father and son, adding that he remembers every single nice thing the latter has ever said about him.
