Justin Timberlake has praised Justin Bieber following the singer’s emotional and widely talked about Coachella appearance, where Bieber also paid tribute to his early musical influence.
On Saturday, April 18, the 32-year-old singer surprised fans by revisiting one of his childhood moments, sharing a throwback clip of himself covering Timberlake’s Cry Me a River before performing live for the crowd.
“I grew up listening to Justin Timberlake and so many other beautiful talents,” the Baby hitmaker told the audience, adding that the moment felt like a full circle experience.
He also casually joked about the old video, saying the guitar was slightly out of tune, before carrying on singing with it.
After the performance, Timberlake shared a heartfelt Instagram post along with a throwback clip from an early interaction between them, dating back to Bieber’s childhood.
“I know this has been a long road. And I know it’s not always a smooth ride. I’m proud of you — and you should be proud of you too. Sending love @lilbieber,” Timberlake wrote.
The post featured a throwback image of the pair alongside Scooter Braun and Jessica Biel, marking their early connection in the industry.
Bieber’s Coachella set also drew major attention online, with surprise appearances from Billie Eilish, SZA, Big Sean, Sexyy Red, and Dijon across the weekend shows.
He also hinted at future plans, telling fans at the end of his set, “See you guys soon.”
