Anne Hathaway has revived her iconic role of Andy Sachs in upcoming sequel of The Devil Wears Prada after exactly two decades.
During a red carpet interview at the premiere of the new project, the 43-year-old shared her attempt at redefining the fashion industry.
She appreciated the “beautiful models on the set,” calling them “traditionally model size.”
However, the Hollywood A-list star shared her vision for the scene in reference to the context.
She thought “the scene would be so much more enjoyable for the audience” if “wider range of bodies” were added.
The Princess Diaries star insisted that “all different shapes are beautiful” which contradicts with the general standards in a fashion industry.
Although Anne voiced a positive change through the upcoming film, the online community debated about her contradicting comments.
One of the X users was of the opinion that the star is now advocating for this major shift as “she’s getting old,” while another netizen slammed her for seemingly feeding “her ego.”
Meanwhile a third user called out the star: “Ok coming from someone who lives off plastic surgery to look younger.”
It is to be noted that evergreen beauty never confirmed the reports about undergoing any beauty procedures to maintain her appearance for the cameras.
