Jaafar Jackson gets honest about his family’s reaction to ‘Michael’ biopic

Jaafar Jackson has recently revealed his family’s reaction during Michael premiere in Berlin.

The actor, who plays his late uncle Michael Jackson in upcoming biopic, shares his family support and love has made him emotional while speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the red carpet.

Recalling his family’s response, Jaafar says that when they “first saw the screen tests,” he received a call from each one of his family members at the time, appreciating his performance.

“I remember even my uncle Tito – Rest in peace to him – getting emotional on the phone and then I started to cry just hearing it from the words, because to me that’s the truest and highest compliment,” explains the 29-year-old.

Jaafar confesses that he was happy to receive this feedback from the “people” who knew the late pop icon more than anyone else.

“They are the ones I looked up to as a kid and to hear how proud they are, how much support I have from them,” continues the actor.

Jaafar further says that he was happiest to get his grandmother’s reaction, who was proud of his acting in the latest movie.

Meanwhile, Michael biopic, directed by Antoine Fuqua, will release in theatres on April 22.
