Jenna Ortega shares incredible movie role that slipped away

Jenna Ortega opened up about the major movie role that she did not land on.

The Wednesday star, known for starring in numerous horror film and TV shows, had one similar role of which she gave audition but never got play it.

Ortega in an appearance on the Kid Cudi’s new podcast, Big Bro, revealed that she auditioned for Ari Aster’s horror film, Hereditry, which was released in January 2018.

“I think I auditioned for Hereditary, which obviously wouldn’t have made any sense, especially for, like, my disposition as a kid, so I understood,” she said.

The Scream VI actress shared that while she only received a portion of the script for audition, she knew the role would be impactful.

“I didn’t know what I was looking at and they gave us barely any sides. It was like two pages of just ominous words that as a 12-year-old went over the head,” she explained. “But I remember seeing it, looking at it, and thinking, ‘I feel like this is an important movie,’ and then it was.”

Hereditary was directed from Aster’s own script and centres on a family struggling to make sense of the mysterious occurrences that happen in the wake of the death of matriarch Ellen (Ann Dowd).

Hr daughter, a miniature artist named Annie played y Toni Collete, begins to uncover disturbing secrets just as she suffers from personal tragedy, her 13-year-old daughter, Charlie (Milly Shapiro), dies in a shocking car accident while her older brother played by Alex Wolff is behind the wheel.

Ortega gave audition for the 13-year-old character.

She recalled watching the movie in theatres with her mother and told her that this was the exact movie she had predicted would be special.

At the same time, they hadn’t even realised they were watching the film she auditioned for. Ortega went on to describe it as an incredible movie.

“It’s funny to think that I went in for that because again, I just didn’t make any sense for it,” she said.
