‘Bridgerton’ unveils new cast members for season 5

Bridgerton, following the success of season four, which told the tale of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), the regency drama has released cast for the next season.

Two weeks after it was announced that the upcoming fifth season will center on Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza), the hit Netflix show announced three new additions to the cast.

According to the E!News, Tega Alexander, Jacqueline Boatswain and Gemma Knight Jones will be joining the show in recurring guest roles.

Alexander, will be playing Christopher Anderson on the series, the son of Lord Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis) who was first introduced in season three.

Boatswain, will be taking on the role of Helen Stirling, the mother of Michaela Stirling. Meanwhile, Knight Jones will be portraying Lady Elizabeth Ashworth.

As per the press release dropped on April 8, Christopher in “a Regency-era Casanova who could give the Bridgerton bachelors a run for their money.”

“Yet behind his cheeky façade lies a current of self-doubt that threatens to unravel him. The son of Lord Anderson will make his mark on society, one way or another,” it adds.

Helen Stirling is described as he “very source” of Michaela’s spirit, Helen “seeks to guide—and occasionally push—her daughter through London's social season.”

As for Lady Elizabeth Ashworth, she is an “old friend of Michaela's who serves as her confidante and London guide.”

Season five, which is based on the sixth book in Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, When He Was Wicked, will follow Francesca as she explores a blossoming romance with Michaela, the cousin of her late husband John Stirling (Victor Alli).

The release date of Bridgerton season five is yet to be released.
