Uma Thurman has opened up about if she prefers to play characters that are good or bad in nature, and the actress had a unique answer.
The Pulp Fiction star attended the premiere of her new film project, Pretty Lethal, at the SXSW Film & TV Festival, where she revealed that it’s more nuanced.
"I like to figure out some sort of essential motivation of any character through understanding someone. They're neither good nor bad very often," she stated to People magazine in the red carpet of the event.
Meanwhile the director of the film, Vicky Jewson, said “Uma is obviously an icon, and she can play a villain like nobody else can. She has a wicked sense of humor, and she also brings empathy to the character that allows you to stay with the character when the most absurd stuff happens.”
Uma plays a reclusive former ballet prodigy named Devora Kasimer and the plot unfolds when a young ballet troupe checks into her eerie inn after their bus breaks down while they are en route to a competition.
Pretty Lethal also stars other actors such as Maddie Ziegler, Lana Condor, Avantika, Millicent Simmonds and Iris Apatow in the movie which is out on streaming platforms now.
