The famous franchise, The Lords of the Rings, recently had a shocking change in the case, which has sparked fan fury.

The shocking news regarding the upcoming live-action movie, The Hunt for Gollum, comes after the director, Andy Serkis confessed that one of the main characters won’t be joining in the forthcoming prequel.

He revealed in an interview with Screen Rant on Thursday, April 2nd that Viggo Mortensen won’t be joining the team as his famous character, Aragorn.

The 61-year-old, who will be playing the character, Gollum in the movie stated, “I don't know what's out there at the moment, but I know there's a lot of speculation, Let's just say we are recasting the role, and we are on the way to finding someone.”

As per the reports, it has been revealed that Leo Woodall is the chosen actor for the role now as the star, Elijah Wood, also gushed about it in a podcast.

Present at the Happy Sad Confused podcast this week, he had a conversation where the host, Josh Horowitz, disclosed, “Tough act to follow for someone to play Aragorn... Leo Woodall, if that's true,”

To which Elijah agreed, “Right, that is true. That's gonna be tough... Those are tough boots [to fill]... but that's gonna be great.”

The upset fans think the anticipated movies won’t be the same if their favourite actor won’t be joining in and think that this is a wrong decision taken by the management.

Some have also raised their concerns that it was better not to make the movie rather than recast the main character.

It is to be noted that the film is slated for a release in 2027.
