Jack Black has delivered his prestigious 5-timers club Saturday Night Live monologue surrounded by previous celebrities that have hosted the show five times.
The School of Rock actor’s monologue was initially interrupted by former five-timer Jonah Hill, who informed the former that there was something wrong with the club, after which they entered the lounge seen in previous monologues.
In the lounge the Anaconda actor was greeted and welcomed by Tina Fey as she said, “You’re the first Black in the five-timers club,” poking fun at the sketch comedy show’s lack of diversity.
It is important to note that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is of mixed-race heritage, is the first and only black five-timer as of yet on SNL.
Candice Bergen and Melissa McCarthy also popped up in the lounge, which Fey explained was covered in cob-webs because “What started off as a one-off joke in a Tom Hanks monologue has been brought back so many times, it has literally been run into the ground.”
The Mean Girls actress added that it was her fifth, five-timers sketch and the monologue also saw the revival of the viral character Doming, played by Marcello Hernandez as he marked his fifth re-appearance.
Notably, Jack White then entered the lounge and collaborated with Black to fix the problems using the power of rock.
