Saturday Night Live episode, hosted by Jack Black and Jack White, turned an ongoing debate on Harry Potter series’ new trailer in to a hilarious sketch.
Michael Che, dressed as Professor Snape, came to the Weekend update at the show with an eyebrow-raising complaint.
According to him, his year at Hogwarts was not “great” because of the “new kid” Harry Potter, calling him out to be “racist as hell.”
As the host got confused, the comedian shared that the “proud boy who lived” has been accusing the “school’s only black teacher" for being "secretly evil.”
Colin added that the iconic character is just worried about the sorcerer’s stone being stolen, to which Michael responded with, “Somebody stole something and their No. #1 suspect is black Snape.”
Besides, he criticised the school for making him the professor of dark arts, insisting that the entire Wizard world is racist.
The sketch added to the ongoing debate about casting Paapa Essiedu as the new Professor Snape. According to many fans, this is not “true to the book.”
The HBO series received mixed reactions after the casting was announced. However, fans are looking forward to the release of the show which is releasing in December 2026.
