DJ Akademiks, the renowned streamer, has reacted to J.Cole’s latest and reportedly last album The Fall Off.
The 41-year-old has shared that he plans to stop making new music as a solo artist and wants to step back from that for at least a while now, and the Jamaican-American podcaster has compared such statements to the success of the 24-track double album.
In his Kick stream on February 12, the journalist whose real name is Livingston George Allen, discussed the Life Sentence singer's feat of selling 300k units.
"I thought it was going to be pretty cool as well, but him doing 300 shows that number one, he can't retire. There's a lot of demand for him. Even though he claims, you know he's going to be taking a step back,” Akademiks stated.
He added, “I think 300 is a really dope number for him, but I think it also helps establish that as people keep saying that music and sales are down."
Meanwhile J.Cole’s seventh studio album, which is deeply personal and introspective, has gained widespread approval from fans and has recieved praise from critics as well.
J. Cole has won two Grammys throughout his rap career.
