Kanye West has placed his Marseille performance on hold after rising pressure from officials in France pointed to a possible ban.
The decision comes amid renewed attention to the artist’s past controversies.
In a follow up message shared on X (formerly Twitter), he spoke out about the situation and his mindset of moving forward.
He wrote, “I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends”
He continued, “I take full responsibility for what’s mine but I don’t want to put my fans in the middle of it. My fans are everything to me.”
Moreover, he concluded his note, writing, "Looking forward to the next shows. See you at the top of the globe ”
In a statement shared earlier, he announced the decision directly, saying,
“After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice.”
For the unversed, the rapper was scheduled to perform at Stade Vélodrome on June 11, but the event came under growing resistance from French officials and local authorities.
