The star’s songs went viral again with young generation streaming his massive hits on Spotify after a biopic on him was released.

Meanwhile, Ariana Grande released her song hate that I made you love me few days ago before dropping the complete studio record Petals for her fans.

After debuting on top, she was dethroned by the Smooth Criminal crooner on the Global Spotify chart with 5.7 million streams on the platform.

On the other hand, the Grammy winner’s new track currently ranks second with 5.4 million plays on the top 50 global streaming chart.

While the musician has always been iconic, the new movie added greatly to the Beat It songmaker’s popularity amongst Gen-Z.

Ariana’s track dropped on May 29, 2026 while the studio record is expected to come out on July 31, 2026.

How much did Michael biopic make?

Michael has been in the headlines ever since it hit the theatres, making $800 million at the box office which broke the record after its $217 million opening worldwide.

According to The Numbers, the production budget for the biopic is reported to be around $155 million.
