Lizzo clears confusion over album name change
American singer Lizzo shares insight into how the album’s tone shifts through production stages
Lizzo has finally addressed the misconception about her Love in Real Life album.
During her latest chat, the singer clarified that nothing has changed with the album despite earlier claims.
In an interview with Billboard, she stated, “I think the biggest misconception about my album is that I shelved Love in Real Life when I didn't. BITCH is technically the same album."
She continued, “I just changed the name. The music is the same.”
Moreover, she told, “When you change the name of something, it changes its destiny,” she said, adding, “Like, when I went from Melissa to Lizzo, it changed my destiny.”
The artist described BITCH as more “empowered and self-actualized” compared to the earlier version of the project and noted,
“I think Love in Real Life was really somber and a little bit more introspective, and I think BITCH is a little bit more empowered and self-actualized and bold.”
Notably, the BITCH is set for release on June 5.
