Pitbull is calling on fans to help him pull off a wildly fun Guinness World Records attempt at BST Hyde Park this summer, and it all involves thousands of bald caps.

The 45-year-old singer will headline the London festival on July 10 and is hoping to break the record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.

But he’s not doing it alone as organisers are now recruiting volunteers to help count every shiny head in the crowd.

An Instagram post from the festival and Pitbull’s team urged fans to get involved, saying, “We need a squad of legendary volunteers… your mission is to count the shiny-headed Bald-E’s in the crowd and help us make history.”

The idea originally came from BBC Radio 1 Breakfast, where host Greg James suggested fans should attempt a record around the Hyde Park show.

On The Floor hitmaker quickly backed the plan, telling supporters, “Guinness Book of World Records, get ready for all the Bald-E’s… every time you put on that bald cap, you know you’re about to have the time of your lives. Dale!”

The “Bald-E’s” trend has already become a fan favourite at his recent concerts, including sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena, where thousands of fans turned up wearing bald caps in tribute to his signature look.

An official adjudicator from Guinness World Records will oversee the attempt, making sure all participants are correctly dressed and gathered together for at least one minute for the record to count.

AEG Presents European Festivals say they’re expecting an unforgettable spectacle, with Pitbull also joined on the night by Kesha, Tinie Tempah, Lil Jon and Los Tucanes de Tijuana.
