Joe Jonas reflects on emotional struggle of balancing touring, family life

Joe Jonas got candid about the joy and heartfelt ending of the major Joe Jonas Anniversary Tour.

After spending quality time with his daughters, Willa, 5½, and Delphine, 3½, who he shares with ex-wife Sophie Turner, he is gearing up to hit the road again with the Jonas Brothers as the band brings their Greetings From Your Hometown Tour to South America.

On his way to Coachella last week, the Sucker hit maker while looking back at the memorable North American trek which concluded in December.

That was a really special tour for us. Celebrating 20 years of the Brothers and our journey, I don't take it for granted,” he said.

The group extended the tour dates on overwhelming demands, “We extended that tour so long. We didn't anticipate such a reaction … to see how many people showed up and made us feel so welcome, it filled our hearts.”

However, the lengthy run came with a personal challenge. The Cake by the Ocean singer admitted that the tour pulled him away from his daughters.

He said, "it also took me away from my family, my kids for a little while. It's hard for me, when I'm touring, I can't really just take three days, four days off to go fly to be with them. So there's a lot of mixed emotions."

Since January he has embraced the “dad mode” prioritizing time at home while doing some writing.

Joe added, “"I've been just really in dad mode since January. I mean, I've been writing and stuff, but touring really has not been on my brain.”

He remains deeply grateful for his career, noting that music allows him to bring joy to fans and life’s chaos.

Jonas Brothers will resume touring in May with the Greetings From Your Hometown Tour across South America. Starting with show on April 30 in California.
