Sydney Sweeney is back and Euphoria fans are already fighting in the comments.
HBO Max finally confirmed that Season 3 is set to release coming April 2026, ending two years of silence and chaos.
To mark the announcement, the platform dropped two new photos and both immediately blew up online.
In the first still, Sydney as Cassie stands holding a melting ice cream. Her face looks furious, confused, and almost empty.
But the second photo is the one that set everyone off. It shows Cassie’s script on a table with every line blacked out except one:
“The fairytale is over.”
That single sentence has already sparked a thousand theories.
Many fans think it hints at Cassie’s downfall. Others believe it means she’s finally done playing the victim. But a loud chunk of the fandom is furious.
The comments under HBO’s post are filled with people calling out the actress and refusing to watch her scenes.
One fan wrote, "Probably not the best person to advertise right now."
Another said, "You didn’t have to bring her back."
While another user wrote, "I'm gonna be skipping all her scenes."
Despite the backlash, the hype is fully back. Sydney hasn’t commented on the backlash or her character arc in the show yet, but insiders say her character has a “major turning point” this season.
And with one ominous line “the fairytale is over” HBO has made one thing clear: Season 3 won’t be pretty. It will be messy, dark, and very Euphoria.
