Sarah Ferguson is officially preparing for a major life reset, and it begins with her own set of house keys.
After 17 years living alongside her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor at Royal Lodge, the 66-year-old is now actively house-hunting, and she reportedly wants to stay close to the place she has long called home.
With King Charles ordering Andrew to vacate the 30-room mansion, and making it clear that no housing provisions would be offered to Sarah, many expected the former Duchess to simply follow Andrew to the King’s private Sandringham estate.
But insiders say that isn’t happening. Instead, Fergie is charting her own path.
While rumours swirled that Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie might step in to help their mother, including speculation about possible moves to the Cotswolds or Portugal, sources close to Sarah insist she’s looking elsewhere.
A friend told The Times that Sarah is now searching for a home “within the Windsor area” and is genuinely excited about the next chapter.
They explained: “She wants to stay in the UK, ideally in the Windsor area, and she wants to have her own base so that she can live independently and continue to pursue many things as Sarah Ferguson.”
Her longtime friend Lizzie Cundy hinted at this change weeks ago, after news broke that both Andrew and Sarah were being removed from Royal Lodge amid renewed scrutiny over their past associations with the late Jeffrey Epstein.
Appearing on Channel 5’s Vanessa show, Cundy shared: "She doesn't want to live with Andrew. Now she (Sarah) wants to draw the line and hopefully move on from this."
