Sinners director Ryan Coogler is finally letting the cat out of the bag, after Denzel Washington already spilled some major details.

The Black Panther director had not talked about a trilogy of the series being in the works, after the two-time Academy Award casually revealed that the award-winning movie maker had written him a role in the third film.

In an interview with Deadline, the 39-year-old said to Mike Fleming Jr., “If it was anybody but you, I would say, ‘I can neither confirm or deny,'” adding, “but we’re working on it hard. … Yeah, it’s the next movie.”

The release date for the culturally impactful and beloved film series is speculated to be around February 2028, with the title rumoured to be 'Shadows of Wakanda', however none of these details have explicitly been confirmed as of yet.

A majority of the original cast is also expected to return, after the devastating loss of the Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman.

The anticipated returning celebrities are speculated to be Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M’Baku, and Angela Bassett’s Queen Ramonda, likely in flashbacks of the past.

Is Black Panther 2 hit or flop?

Black Panther 2, officially known as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was the sixth highest grossing film at the time of its release and also garnered positive reviews from critics.
