Beloved late actor Chadwick Boseman is set to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after his death in 2020 from colon cancer.
His Black Panther director, Ryan Coogler, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom co-star Viola Davis will be speaking at the ceremony.
His wife, Simone Ledward-Boseman will be receiving the honour on his behalf.
Based on information from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, his star will be located at 6904 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles.
Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez remarked on the selection, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world.”
Boseman received an Academy Award nomination in 2021 after his tragic passing for his excellent performance as trumpet player Levee Green in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.
The role also led to him winning Golden Globe, Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild Awards, which his wife accepted on his behalf.
