Prince Georges debut at Remembrance event echoes Prince Williams first royal duty

Prince George took a meaningful step into royal life this weekend that echoed his father Prince William’s own journey.

The 12-year-old future king made a surprise appearance alongside his mother, Princess Kate, at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

The event marked George’s first-ever attendance at a Remembrance ceremony, stepping in for Prince William, who had just returned from his week-long environmental trip to Brazil.

A palace insider previously told People: “It’s a slow game, and it gets him used to it on the couple’s terms rather than anybody else’s.”

The appearance mirrors Prince William’s own debut at age 12, when he attended the VE Day 50th anniversary service in 1995 with Princess Diana and King Charles. That moment introduced William to public duty.
