After what insiders have called a “cursed” few years at Adelaide Cottage, Prince William and Kate Middleton have quietly celebrated a major fresh start.
According to the Daily Mail, the Prince and Princess of Wales hosted a private “thank you” party on Friday night to honour the builders and staff who helped them settle into their new Windsor home, Forest Lodge.
The intimate event was reportedly held at The York Club, an exclusive members-only venue for residents and employees of The Crown Estate, just a short walk from the family’s new Georgian residence.
“The couple very sweetly just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has worked tirelessly to help,” a source told the outlet.
The move marks a new chapter for the Wales family, following a turbulent few years marked by the Queen’s passing and Kate’s cancer diagnosis.
A royal insider added: “Adelaide Cottage really does have difficult memories attached to it. They’ve been through some of their toughest times there. Now, they’re excited for a fresh start, and for their children to make happy new memories.”
