Malala Yousafzai recalled a story of meeting Prince Harry when her mother disapproved of him.
The female education activist was born in Pakistan and later moved to UK in 2012 when she was shot by a Taliban gunman in an assassination attempt.
For her activism, Malala has been honoured with many awards including the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 becoming the youngest laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize.
While making an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Malala shared a story from the time she met Prince Harry.
“When I met Prince Harry and he put his arm very respectfully around my shoulder for a photograph, my mother goes after him and shoves his hand away!”, she recalled.
The 28-year-old’s mother Toor Pekai Yousafzai disapproved of the gesture moving away the Duke of Sussex’s hand away as it is unacceptable in their culture.
However, Malala’s father Ziauddin Yousafzai was excited when she met English footballer David Beckham at the 2013 Pride of Britain Awards, held in London.
While there was still “disapproval of their conservative relatives”, Malala fired back saying “Firstly, I am 17 and secondly, that’s David Beckham!”
