It seems King Charles may share his royal home with a few uninvited guests.
With over 25 ghost sightings spanning centuries, Windsor Castle has earned the title of Britain’s most haunted royal residence.
Built in 1070, the fortress has housed every monarch since Henry I, and, according to reports, several of them never left.
Witnesses claim to have seen the spirits of Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth I, and even King George III wandering its echoing halls.
According to Visit Britain, the ghost of Elizabeth I has been seen gliding along the castle’s upper floors, her footsteps echoing before her “striking presence appears.”
Even the late Queen Elizabeth II reportedly admitted she and Princess Margaret once sensed her ancestor’s spirit.
King George III, who suffered mental illness near the end of his life, is said to appear looking “longingly out of the window” beneath the library, while guards once swore they saw his figure salute them during a parade, after his death.
