Prince William told to show his ruthless side to 'save the monarchy'

Prince William may have to show a “ruthless” side if he’s to secure the future of the British monarchy, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Prince of Wales, 43, was recently accused of allegedly warning his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie that their royal titles could face review if they didn’t urge their father, Prince Andrew, to leave Royal Lodge. 

While Kensington Palace has firmly denied that such a meeting took place, the discussion reignited speculation about William’s growing influence within “The Firm.”

Writing for the Daily Mail, royal author A.N. Wilson said: “Even if this particular rumour has been misrepresented, there is no doubt that William is a tougher nut than his father. And it is no longer a matter of choice: he must be tough. Indeed, if he is to save the monarchy, he must even appear to be cruel.”

Sources suggest William and Princess Kate are eager to see Andrew and Sarah Ferguson vacate Royal Lodge, a property they once reportedly hoped to move into themselves.
