Tom Parker Bowles, Queen Camilla’s son, has hilariously dismissed any suggestion that he could ever become a prince, joking that “Buckingham Palace’s gates would be stormed” if it happened.
Speaking on the Radio Times Good Food podcast, the 50-year-old food critic said: “If I suddenly became a prince, I think that would be the quickest way to revolution. It would be appalling.”
He added that such a move would “set back the monarchy by years,” stressing that he’s perfectly happy “sticking to being Tom.”
Tom, the son of Queen Camilla and her former husband Andrew Parker Bowles, has always kept a low profile despite his royal connections.
Instead of palace life, he’s built a career as a respected food writer, and now, as a drinks entrepreneur.
Discussing his new non-alcoholic cordials brand, Christopher’s, Tom revealed that his royal mother is “obsessed” with the Sicilian lemon and redcurrant flavour.
He also praised today’s growing focus on health and balance, saying: “There’s nothing wrong with a few days off drinking. It’s all about understanding yourself and your body.”
