Prince Harry pokes fun at himself as he gets candid in new interview

Prince Harry has given one of his most relaxed interviews yet, chatting with comedian Hasan Minhaj for a new episode of Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know. 

The Duke of Sussex opened up about life in California, his thoughts on US citizenship, and even poked fun at himself, trying out an American accent and joking about his “chicken legs.”

Laughing with the host, Harry said the most “American” thing he does is surf, before adding: “Is that American or Californian?” When asked if he wears shorts in restaurants, the royal quipped, “No one should see my legs.”

Harry gamely read a few lines in an American drawl, including the phrase: “I ordered breadsticks with ranch dressing at Applebee’s.” 

The room erupted in laughter, prompting Harry to ask: “Is that encouraging or mocking me?”

The Duke also reflected on his memoir Spare, laughing at the viral story about shopping at TK Maxx: “It was hard… TK Maxx is now a special place in my memory.”

Switching to serious topics, Harry discussed mental health and the dangers of social media, warning that it’s “taking young men and boys into very dark places.”
