Glen Powell is opening up about the key role that Stephen King has played in the film adaptation of his 1982 novel, The Running Man.
The Twisters actor revealed an intense story about him being chosen to play Ben Richards in the upcoming film by director Edgar Wright, but still needing the seal of approval from the renowned author at New York Comic Con.
“Edgar offered me this movie, and I was like, ‘Yes.’ I’m like, ‘Let's go…’ And then, like, later that night [Edgar says], ‘By the way, like, you have to be approved by Stephen King. He’s gonna watch Hit Man tonight,” the 36-year-old stated with a chuckle.
He continued, “And so I had to wait overnight for Stephen King to watch Hit Man and hope that I still had the role in the morning. It’s terrible.”
Glen confirmed that Stephen loved his acting in Hit Man, which is why he is still set to play the role in the forthcoming movie.
Meanwhile the director Edgar said that the screenplay was also reviewed by the "King of Horror" writer, which the screenwriter found nerve wracking.
No, Powell and Sweeney have never dated, however they did turn up the chemistry to promote their rom-com Anyone But You.
