Robert Downey Jr. breaks silence on transforming into Dr Doom

Robert Downey Jr., who is famous for his character, Iron Man, recently revealed what prompted him to make the decision to become a villain.

The American actor is set to star in Marvel’s upcoming project, Avengers: Doomsday, in which he will be taking on the character of the villainous character, Dr. Doom.

When the news first broke, it broke on the internet as 2019’s Endgame movie left the fans' hearts broken after the death of Robert’s character, Tony Stark.

Now coming forward to reveal what thoughts were put into making such a decision, he revealed, “And now having played Tony Stark for all those years, I’m coming back into Marvel again. Without Lewis Strauss and without [Christopher] Nolan’s endorsement,”

He added, “it wouldn’t make as much sense to say, ‘Oh yeah, I’m going to hit that button again, but now I’m going to do it in this genre.’ But really, what’s interesting to me is digging into what happens backstage at the world, not being afraid of scale.”

It is to be noted that Robert has played an important role in building the franchise, and he has been important to the installments of Marvel.

Notably, the forthcoming movie is set to launch on December 18, 2026.
