Jeremy Allen White has thrown his support behind plans to restrict social media access for children.
The 35-year-old actor admitted that he worries about just how addictive the online world has become.
The Bear star, who shares two daughters with ex-wife Addison Timlin, praised efforts to introduce tougher rules for under-16s using social media platforms.
Speaking candidly about modern technology, Jeremy said he believes stronger boundaries are needed to protect young people.
The Shameless actor revealed his own daughters, aged seven and five, do not have phones or tablets of their own.
While they occasionally use devices belonging to their parents, as he is keen to keep their screen time under control.
He described social media as “remarkably addictive” and said society may need to rediscover a more old-fashioned way of living.
Although he accepts technology is here to stay, he fears the speed at which digital life is evolving.
“It’s moving very fast and it’s a little scary,” he admitted.
Away from family life, Jeremy also opened up about the anxiety that fuels his award-winning performance as troubled chef Carmy Berzatto in The Bear.
He explained that while he has personal methods for managing stress, those emotions remain close enough to the surface to help him bring authenticity to the role.
His co-star Ayo Edebiri echoed many of his concerns, confessing she dreams of ditching her smartphone altogether.
The 30-year-old actress joked that if work commitments allowed, she would happily switch to a flip phone and only return calls the following day.
Despite his criticism of excessive screen use, Jeremy admitted he has one digital habit he cannot quit.
The Iron Claw actor revealed he loves scrolling through property listings and real estate apps, often imagining entirely different lives in places he visits.
