Tom Holland’s daring ‘Umbrella’ routine left Zendaya in awe

Zendaya’s romance with Tom Holland may have started with a very unexpected moment and fans are loving the revelation.

According to a new report, the 29-year-old actress was left completely smitten after watching Tom’s unforgettable performance of Rihanna’s Umbrella on Lip Sync Battle back in 2017. 

The now-viral routine saw the 30-year-old actor swap his Spider-Man suit for a daring drag-inspired outfit, complete with a black vinyl corset and matching shorts, as he recreated the singer’s iconic music video.

An insider claimed Zendaya “fell hard for him” after seeing the performance, which has since become one of the most talked-about celebrity TV moments of the last decade.

“It’s not just sexy, but it shows how amazingly talented he is,” the source told The Mail on Sunday. 

“It takes a lot of confidence for a straight guy to pull off drag.”

The insider added that while some people initially viewed The Odyssey actor as “slightly wimpy” when he was cast as Spider-Man, his talent and charisma quickly proved otherwise.

It's worth noting that Zendaya and Tom appeared on Lip Sync Battle while promoting Spider-Man: Homecoming, and viewers still remember the actress’s stunned reaction as she watched his rain-soaked performance unfold on stage. 

“You can see the shock on her face, but then the admiration,” the source said, suggesting it is the sort of moment the couple may one day share with their children.

The pair first met while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming and fuelled romance rumours for years before confirming their relationship in 2021 after being photographed kissing.

More recently, speculation about a secret wedding intensified after stylist Law Roach hinted the ceremony had already taken place. 

Tom later appeared to confirm the marriage during an interview with Esquire, revealing family members had attended the event but refusing to share further details.

As ever, the famously private couple are keeping the rest of their love story firmly under wraps.
