Courteney Cox and other cast members of Friends were shocked after getting to know about the death of their beloved director James Burrows.
The 62-year-old remembered the legend who is notable for contributing to iconic sitcoms in history of comedies, including The Big Bang Theory, Taxi and Will & Grace.
In a gushing tribute, the Hollywood actress revealed a fatherly connection with James, nicknamed as Jimmy.
According to her, the producer used to refer to the cast members “as the kids,” calling her Cox-N-Hammer. She admitted not knowing the meaning behind it but would accept it anyways.
The departed soul took the actors “under his wing and taught” everything without “sugar-coating” anything, turning out to be “always right.”
Courteney was of the opinion that everyone “felt safe and confident” being in his company, enjoying their time together.
She gushed about Jimmy’s down to earth demeanour, calling him an “egoless” person despite his “talent, wisdom and adoration.”
Towards the end of the note, the Scream actress admitted missing him.
The sad news of the director’s death was reported by agent Rick Rosen. The Cheers maker died at the age of 86 in the United States.
During his long-running career of nearly five decades, James earned 11 Emmy Awards and has contributed to direct over 1000 episodes of famous shows.
